Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington is a joint-venture, physician investor-owned company between Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital and cardiologists on the medical staff.

Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington, located inside Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital on the 3rd & 5th floors, is a physician-led hospital offering advanced services for the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Patients who visit the emergency room at Texas Health Arlington Memorial with these conditions are transferred to the heart hospital to receive specialized care under a seamless process.


Parking & Transportation

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is at the corner of Randol Mill Road and Cooper Street.

Valet parking is available at the south entrance on Wright Street, Monday – Friday 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Patients and visitors are encouraged to valet park or self-park in the South parking garage.

    Sherri Emerson, R.N., MSN, MBA
    Sherri Emerson, M.S.N., M.B.A., R.N.

    Sherri Emerson, M.S.N., M.B.A., R.N., serves as president of Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital.

    Emerson joined the Texas Health Resources team from Austin Surgical Hospital-Austin, Texas, where she had served as chief executive officer/chief nursing officer since 2003. In that position, she oversaw the renovation and opening of a new hospital and provide oversight for all nursing and non-nursing operations, led strategic business development activities and service line development.

    She began her career in health care at Port Saint Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie, Florida on an orthopedic floor. She quickly moved into the telemetry unit and cardiac cath recovery unit, followed by CVICU where she found her niche in nursing as a heart transplant/open heart recovery nurse. She enjoyed teaching and precepting new nurses so much she became the Director of Education for The Heart Hospital of Austin. In that role, she assisted Medcath, Inc. in opening five heart hospitals across the country. She then moved into executive leadership opening an orthopedic hospital for Ortho-Neuro corporation.

    She holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Indian River Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from University of Texas, a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Business Administration in finance and accounting from the Florida Institute of Technology.

    In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family in Florida, scuba diving and raising her two children with her husband, Thomas.

    James, Norcross, M.D.
    James Norcross, M.D., is board certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology/zoology at Duke University and earned his medical degree at the University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency, and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
